Michael Connor is a Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional (CIRP) and is a Vice-President of BDO Canada Limited. In April, 1998, he commenced his own insolvency and bankruptcy practice in Sydney, Nova Scotia under the corporate name of Connor & Associates Limited. Prior to that time, Mr. Connor held the position of Vice-President of KPMG Inc., Sydney office, where he was in charge of their insolvency practice from July, 1980. In January of 2006, Mr. Connor merged his professional practice into Goodman Rosen Inc. (a predecessor of BDO Canada Limited).
Prior to joining KPMG, Michael worked as a Personal Loans Manager with Canadian Acceptance Corporation and Regional Manager with the Provincial Department of Consumer Affairs. He also held the position of Official Receiver and Licensed Insolvency Trustee with the Federal Department of Consumer and Corporate Affairs, Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy.
Michael has acted as Receiver and Agent for financial institutions to manage and/or realize on the assets of corporate debtors as well as Licensed Insolvency Trustee under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act in business and consumer bankruptcies and proposals.
Michael was born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia and has practiced in Nova Scotia throughout his professional career.
